Further excavations in Sidon
revealed residential layers dating from the Canaanite period, between 2000 and
3000 BCE. These findings are particularly significant, as such strata are
rarely found in Lebanon. For the first time, archaeologists were able to trace
a continuous chronological sequence of the Canaanite era from its earliest
beginnings to its final stages.
De nouvelles
fouilles à Sidon ont révélé des couches résidentielles datant de la période
cananéenne, entre 3000 et 2000 avant notre ère. Ces découvertes revêtent une
importance particulière, car de telles strates sont rarement mises au jour au
Liban. Pour la première fois, les archéologues ont pu reconstituer une séquence
chronologique continue de l’époque cananéenne, depuis ses prémices jusqu’à ses
derniers stades.
في حفريات صيدا كذلك أُعلن
عن اكتشاف طبقات سكنية تعود إلى الحقبة الكنعانية من 2000 إلى 3000 سنة قبل
الميلاد، أهميتها في أنها نادرة الوجود في لبنان، وعُثر لأول مرة على هذا التاريخ التسلسلي للعصر الكنعاني من أول
بداياته لغاية آخر مراحله.
