Founded: Around 2750 BCE, Tyre was originally a mainland settlement and later developed a major island city.

Phoenician Powerhouse: Tyre was a key city-state in Phoenicia, renowned for maritime trade, shipbuilding, and the purple dye (Tyrian purple) extracted from murex shells.

Colonization: Tyre founded colonies across the Mediterranean, most famously Carthage (in present-day Tunisia) around 814 BCE.

Fondation : Vers 2750 av. J.-C., Tyr était à l'origine une colonie continentale, puis devint une importante cité insulaire. Pouvoir phénicien : Tyr était une cité-État clé de Phénicie, réputée pour son commerce maritime, sa construction navale et sa teinture pourpre (pourpre de Tyr) extraite des coquillages murex. Colonisation : Tyr fonda des colonies en Méditerranée, dont la plus célèbre fut Carthage (dans l'actuelle Tunisie) vers 814 av. J.-C.

تأسست صور حوالي عام ٢٧٥٠ قبل الميلاد، وكانت في الأصل مستوطنة برية، ثم تطورت لاحقًا لتصبح مدينة جزيرة رئيسية.

مركز القوة الفينيقية: كانت صور دولة-مدينة رئيسية في فينيقيا، اشتهرت بالتجارة البحرية، وبناء السفن، والصبغة الأرجوانية (أرجواني صور) المستخرجة من أصداف الموركس.

الاستعمار: أسست صور مستعمرات عبر البحر الأبيض المتوسط، وأشهرها قرطاج (في تونس حاليًا) حوالي عام ٨١٤ قبل الميلاد.
